A LOCAL business is on a mission to give 10- to 15-year-olds something to do in this “quiet town” of Mandurah.
Hyza Kite Entertainment, which was responsible for the successful rooftop cinema last summer, will be holding a ‘tween’ glow party every month.
Owner Jay Crossman said the event, Tween Nation, was first held earlier this month and due to its success, will become a regular occurrence on the community calendar.
“After discussion we decided to create something that will keep the kids off the streets and decided an event with a theme would be perfect,” he said.
“There are amazing games including limbo pole, sumo suit wrestling and just recently we decided to look for up coming DJs to show [their] skills.”
The next Tween Nation will be on July 11 and will take on a Christmas in July theme.
And it’s set to go off with a bang – quite literally – with the inclusion of confetti cannons to create fake snow.
Local dance and beatboxers will also be on show and the $15 includes a free hotdog and drink.
Hyza Kite is also open for suggestions for different theme ideas for upcoming Tween Nation events and suggestions of any up-and-coming young, local talents who would want to perform.
Tween Nation will be at Ac-cent on July 11 from 7-10pm, with tickets sold at the door.
