BALDIVIS has opened up a two-game gap in fifth position in the Peel Football League following a win over Centrals at Mundijong Oval on the weekend.
The Brumbies (4-3) were in control for most of the match, but Centrals (1-6) booted five goals in the final quarter but it was not enough.
The Brumbies came out as winners with 14.16 (100) to 14.10 (94).
Jason Daniel booted six goals for Baldivis and was named best on ground while Callum Black kicked three and Alex Stuart played an important role as second-best on ground.
Thomas Keeffe booted six goals for Centrals while Jordan Jennings and Justin Chalwell were named among the top players.
The scores were locked for most of the first half with the Brumbies going in to the half-time break with a two-point lead.
Baldivis skipped away in the third-quarter, kicking five goals to two to lead by 20 points before Centrals came back in the final quarter.
The loss leaves Centrals in sixth position, two games behind Baldivis.
Pinjarra has moved up to second spot on the ladder after they won their fifth game in a row, defeating Halls Head 9.10 (64) to 4.7 (31) at Sir Ross McLarty Oval.
Jeffrey Carter booted six goals for Pinjarra while Callan Eddy, Mitchell Green and Brendon Coxon were named in the best for the Tigers.
Pinjarra’s win moves them to second on the ladder, with five wins and two losses while Halls Head are third, with the same record.
Alan Wilson kicked five goals as Waroona continued their strong form defeating Mandurah by 62-points at Bendigo Bank Stadium on Saturday.
Eli Smith and Jayden Caratti kicked three each for the Waroona Demons while Benjamin Matthews-Herald kicked two.
Ryan McKinlay was named best for the Demons with Caratti and Clay Smith also named among the club’s best.
Taine Wilson and Gregory Nelson kicked two goals each for the Mandurah Mustangs and Daniel Cransberg was named best on field.
Waroona started the game kicking six goals to three in the first quarter, with Mandurah coming back and winning the second quarter by two points.
The Demons booted eight goals to two in the second-half to seal the game and go to five wins and two losses.
The Mustangs are stuck on the bottom of the ladder with one win from seven games.
At Anniversary Park, South Mandurah thrashed Rockingham by 82-points to move to outright first on the ladder.
The South Mandurah Falcons sit on top of the ladder with six wins and one loss while Rockingham sits second-last with just one win after seven games.
South Mandurah ran away with the game in the second half booting nine goals to two with Brad Holmes once again the leading goal-kicker with five majors for the Falcons.
Samuel Hart and Brent Johnson added four for the Falcons while Jamen Williams, Thomas Wood and John Bennell proved crucial to the game.
For Rockingham, Kelvin Lawrence was the only multiple goal-scorer with three, while Daniel Chidlow and Dale Roberts were proved beneficial.
The game started evenly with both sides kicking five goals a-piece in the opening quarter.
South Mandurah then piled on eight goals to one in the second-quarter and continued on the strong goal-scoring form for the rest of the game.
In the reserves, Mandurah was defeated by Waroona, Pinjarra just beat Halls head, South Mandurah was too good for Rockingham and Baldivis defeated Centrals.
In the colts, Waroona was too strong for Mandurah, Halls Head beat Pinjarra, Rockingham was defeated by South Mandurah and Baldivis recorded a big win against Centrals.
Next week, Waroona host Pinjarra, Baldivis play Halls Head, Centrals take on Rockingham and Mandurah are up against South Mandurah.
