Three Australians are among the 33-car field for the 99th Indianapolis 500, which will be run early Monday morning AEST.
Toowoomba's Will Power, the reigning IndyCar champion, is among the favourites in his Team Penske Dallara-Chevrolet, starting from the middle of the front row.
Power was just beaten to pole position in qualifying by New Zealander Scott Dixon, the 2008 Indy 500 winner.
Sydney's Ryan Briscoe starts on the inside of the back row in 31st spot in a Dallara-Honda as a late substitute for Canadian James Hinchcliffe, who suffered severe leg injuries in a practice-lap crash on Monday.
Melbourne's James Davison will line up last in 33rd position after missing qualifying because of a conflicting GT sports car race. His Dallara-Honda was put into the field by another driver on his behalf.
Davison is expected to race his way to the front half of the field as his speed in practice was competitive.
Uniquely, the Indy 500's rolling start has the cars lined up three abreast on 11 rows.
The race will be shown live on Fox Sports 5 from 1.10-5.30 am on Monday.
