Ada Nicodemou has said she will "never be completely happy again" following her stillbirth last year.
In her first interview after the loss of baby Harrison, Nicodemou, 38, spoke candidly to New Idea about the grief of losing a child and the impact it has had on herself and husband Chrys Xipolitas.
"We will never be the same people we were, and I hate that," the Home And Away actress said.
"How do you cope with this? How do you cope? For both of us, what's upsetting is that this is part of our story now. It's something you never imagine. It's just one of the most unnatural things you could ever go through."
Nicodemou, who plays Leah Patterson-Baker on the show, added that she did not think she could ever be completely happy again after the tragic event.
"It's not that I will never be a complete person again, but I just wonder ... How can I say? I just feel I can never be completely happy again because this has happened."
Nicodemou and Xipolitas, a restaurateur, married in 2007.
The couple have one child together, two-year-old Johnas.
In March 2014 Nicodemou announced she and Xipolitas were expecting their second child.
At the time, Nicodemou told New Idea that she was surprised they had managed to conceive so quickly, after she had struggled to become pregnant with their first child, ultimately turning to IVF treatment.
"For it to happen so quickly after we struggled for so long last time is a really nice surprise and we feel really, really lucky," she said in the interview, which was given just after she passed the 12-week mark.
However, in August Nicodemou and Xipolitas issued a joint statement via the Home and Away Facebook page, revealing they had lost the baby.
"It is with great sadness that we need to share some news with you," the statement read.
"Our baby boy Harrison was delivered stillborn on Thursday, 7 August, 2014."
The couple said that, while they appreciated the support of Nicodemou's fans, they would be grieving for their loss in private.
"We appreciate your love and support as we mourn the loss of our precious son," they said.
"We understand we have lived some of our lives in the public eye. But we respectfully ask for privacy at this difficult and extremely painful time so we can grieve and heal."
