At least 26 storage units have been left gutted after a fire broke out at Margaret River's Anytime Storage this morning.
Three fire crews rushed to the scene to fight the blaze and their quick action likely prevented the rapid spread of the blaze.
"A bit of positive news is a number of units have been saved," Margaret River Volunteer Fire Service Captain Jeff Bushby said.
"We were able to determined where the fire had spread to and aggressively attacked it."
The property manager of Anytime Storage said they are contacting all the tenants affected by the fire.
"It may be a few days before people will get access," she said.
Families, upon hearing the news, were left in tears after hearing their valuables and property had gone up in smoke.
Special investigators are on route from Perth to determine the cause of the blaze.
"The fire is not yet being treated as suspicious," Captain Bushby said.
"But if anyone saw something suspicious in the area please contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000."
