I AM surprised by a lot of things.
Tony Abbott eating a raw onion; Zayn leaving One Direction; a cat that stands on just two legs that has taken the internet by storm; the fact that I’m not married…
This week though, I saw a pelican try to turn itself inside out.
I’m not making it up.
I was at the Falcon boat ramp on the weekend, not because I have a boat, but because I like looking at birds, when who should come waddling over but Mr Percival.
We had a bit of a chat about the weather and the football before he flew off to take his perch on a nearby pole.
I swear, he seemed perfectly normal.
Until he tried to EAT HIMSELF.
You know those bills pelicans have? They are huge! Not only can they fit half the Peel-Harvey estuary inside, they can pretty much swallow their own entire body.
I have provided proof of this.
What I don’t understand is a) why would they do this? And b) how do they do this?
The sight has perplexed me so much in the past couple of days I have taken to trying the move myself in yoga class.
Let me tell you now, you think this pelican photo is freaky? You really don’t want to see me try the same move.
Maybe that’s why I’m not married…
