A rock fishing trip has left one man dead and another missing in rough waters in WA's south.
Police were called to the Salmon Holes area, near Albany, about 7 am Saturday after reports of two people needing help.
One man was found dead and taken to Albany Hospital.
It is believed the two were fishing off rocks in an area known for unpredictable weather and large swells.

Recfishwest chief executive officer Dr Andrew Rowland said he was saddened to hear of the recent loss of a fisherman and urged others to take care.
"Rock fishing safety has become a statewide issue with incidents having occurred at Steep Point near Shark Bay right down to Esperance," he said.
Dr Rowland said there had been more than 22 rock fishing deaths since 2002 in WA and Albany's Salmon Holes was one of the most prominent and dangerous locations for rock fishers.
"Public awareness, promotion and education are of vital importance to reducing rock fishing incidences," Dr Rowland said.
The search for the missing person continues.
