THE Mandurah Magic men regrouped from a disappointing one-point loss to Perry Lakes Hawks on Saturday to defeat the Perth Redbacks on Sunday.
The Mandurah side led by one point with four minutes remaining against the Hawks but that was reversed by the final whistle, with the Magic losing 90-91.
The Magic came from behind against the Redbacks to win by seven points, 110-103.
Playing at home against the Hawks, the Magic started slowly to trail by eight points at quarter-time.
The men chipped away at the deficit in the following two periods to trail by one point at three-quarter time.
Despite hitting the front in the final period the Hawks regained the lead with the score locked at 90-91 with two minutes remaining.
That was all that would be added by both teams with the Magic missing the last three attempts on basket to lose.
Taylor Mullenax top-scored with 21 points with Jarrad Jackson adding 16.
It was an arm wrestle on Sunday against the Redbacks with the Redbacks taking a one-point lead into the final period.
The Magic shot at 60 per cent in the final period compared to the Redbacks’ 37.5 per cent to record the seven-point win.
Paul Hafford was the top scorer with 31 points with Taylor Mullenax and Ben Smith chipping in with 24 and 21.
The Magic play the South West Slammers on Thursday at home.
