Traffic along Tonkin Highway could be slow today as police search for clues to a murder.
The Major Crime Squad is conducting further inquiries into the murder of Angela Rose Mackinnon on March 10, whose 42-year-old brother John has been charged with her death.
He has also been charged with the attempted murder of his nephew, Jesse Henwood, who he allegedly stabbed
Police inquiries include searching of the median strip on Tonkin Highway between Roe Highway Forrestfield and Ranford Road Forrestdale, near where John Mackinnon allegedly dumped his car after fleeing the scene of the crime.
Police said the search would be conducted in two sections with a marked traffic vehicle marking the area where the search team would be operating.
There would be no lane closures but traffic flow would be affected by police traffic vehicles moving slowly in the right lane.
The search operation began at 7am Sunday and it is expected that the search will take between six and eight hours.
