HALLS Head College has added sound-proof music rooms as part of the redevelopment of its performing arts centre.
The school’s renovated facility has a new performing arts room to conduct performances and rooms for music lessons.
The building also features a new dance studio, that College dance teacher Joanne McDonnell said she was ecstatic about.
Previously, the building had a production room and rooms to have lessons.
“This new extension to the Performing Arts department has created even more opportunity for growth of the arts as a school and within the local community,” she said.
“With the new buildings completed, plans are underway involving additional dance classes in all genres, more specialist teachers as well as local, national and international dance companies and choreographers.
“We are extremely excited for some excellent endeavours ahead.”
School arts coordinator David McLeish said they now have facilities for all areas of the arts.
“Both students and staff are thrilled with the scope of the new building and believe that we now have some of the best physical resources of any school in the Peel region,” he said.
“With this year’s student numbers in excess of 1500 it was clearly time for extension and our building program for the arts has been well worth the wait.”
