Bassendean bushfire threat downgraded

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services said the "advice" was in place for people in parts of Ashfield, Bassendean, Ascot and South Guildford, in area bounded by Guildford Road, Tonkin Highway, and Great Eastern Highway in the Town of Bassendean:

• The alert level for this fire has been downgraded as the fire is now under control and is no longer threatening homes on Hardy Road in Ashfield.
• There is no threat to lives or homes but there is a lot of smoke in the area.
• Although there is no immediate danger you need to be aware and keep up to date in case the situation changes.
• The fire is burning in the Ashfield Flats between Hardy Road and the Swan River.
