THE Mandurah Magic got its State Basketball League campaign underway on the weekend with the Pre-Season Blitz.
The competition kicked off on Friday with each side playing four 40 minute games across the weekend.
The Magic women split the point winning and losing two games.
The women started strongly on Friday with a 15-point win over the under 18 metropolitan women’s side (42-27).
On Saturday the Magic went down by 10 points in their second game against Stirling Senators (37-27) before bouncing back with a big 26-point win over Lakeside Lightning (42-16).
The women’s last game on Sunday was a nail-biter with the Magic falling three points short against Perry Lakes (30-27).
The Magic men started its season in the best way possible with four wins.
The local men defeated the under 18 metropolitan men by 11 points on Friday night (46-35) and backed it up on Saturday with a six-point victory against Perry Lakes Hawks (52-46).
On the final day of the competition the Magic recorded a five-point win against Lakeside Lightning (52-47)and a seven-point victory against Stirling Senators (47-40).
