THE bus service on route 584 in Madora Bay will continue to be disrupted while the connecting road, Challenger Road, is closed for subdivision works.
Road closures began on February 16 and will continue to approximately late April, according to Transperth.
The services will not travel along Challenger Road or Madora Beach Road in the old Madora Bay area.
In Parliament Mr Templeman said the Perth Transport Authority (PTA) had opted to terminate the service to the people of old Madora Bay rather than send the bus route down an alternative route.
“I simply cannot believe the ridiculous decision by the Minister for Transport and the Department to sever transport services to the people of Old Madora Bay,” he said.
“There are two options. Re-examine the alternative route suggested by the City of Mandurah and the Developer or continue to service the people of Madora Bay by taking the bus back out on Lord Hobart Drive and onto Mandurah Road and back into Madora Bay for the period of time Challenger Road needs to be closed”. Mr Templeman said.
According to the Transperth website, there is no suitable alternative to these services and the agency regrets any inconvenience by the road closure.
School Special 749 to and from Singleton Primary School will not be affected by this disruption.
