Thieves have set fire to a sea container full of sporting equipment in Geraldton, destroying more than $25,000 worth of equipment and uniforms.
Police say sometime between 10.30pm on January 31 and 7am on February 1, unknown offenders broke into the Wonthella Sporting Complex on Eighth Street, Wonthella.
The offenders damaged and stole property from the Geraldton Little Athletics Club, La Fiamma Soccer Club and Aquarena.
The thieves also broke into the Geraldton Hockey Association, where they set fire to a sea container used for storage. New uniforms valued at $20,000 and hockey sticks valued at $4000 were destroyed in the fire.
