BALLROOM: A true gentleman of the Western Australian Ballroom Dancing scene has achieved a lifetime goal of being named a national champion.
Bunbury dancer Andrew Buswell and his partner Kelsey Pincer were crowned the Australian Open Amateur New Vogue champions in Melbourne earlier this month.
Mr Buswell has been dancing since he was a youngster 22 years ago.
“It has been a long time in the making and it is such a great feeling to have finally got to the top,” Buswell said.

The pair have been dancing together for close to three years and travel extensively to compete.
This year they became the first couple to take out the major New Vogue title in each state.
Competing at the National Championships, Buswell and Pincer won their way through three rounds to qualify for the six couple final.
Of the five dances in that final round, the scores from the 11 judges had the WA first in four dancers, and second in one.

To round out a successful weekend, the pair also qualified for the final round of six in the notoriously competitive Australian and World DanceSport Federation International Standard which featured four overseas couples.
Mr Buswell said the pair, who train for 60 hours a week, will enjoy a short break over Christmas and New Year before preparations begin for the 2015 season.
