TWO Mandurah residents are embracing the digital revolution and taking advantage of the business opportunities it presents by developing an app.
Daniel Goodin and Brandon Read have just developed Plan-et, an app and web service which allows people to find out what events and deals are happening in their area.
“The idea is that for advertisers it is expensive to let people know what’s going on,” Mr Goodin said.
“On here they can advertise what’s going on for $2 a day and people can look at the posts to see what they want to do for the day.
“And people are using it to see the ads so people won’t be annoyed by advertisements being in their face all the time.”
Plan-et.com.au was launched last week, with the app set for nationwide release early next year.
In four months it is hoped the app will go worldwide, with Mr Read saying it had already attracted attention overseas.
When released, the app will allow people to watch in real-time what is happening on the street they are on, look up events in advance and find events for different age groups.
“Everything from garage sales and small business sale to big events will be on this app,” Mr Read said.
Mr Read’s other business Facere Graphics designed Plan-et’s appearance and programming was done in Perth.
If the app takes off Mr Goodin said they hoped to continue creating other apps under Plan-et of the Apps.
Businesses can sign-up to advertise on the app by going to plan-et.com.au
