PALACE is no stranger to local music event Hooch.
The local producer was there from the beginning organising some of the music events.
But after leaving the team sometime later, Palace has spent his time perfecting his sound – something which the upcoming Hooch Fest audience are sure to appreciate.
With a wide range of tracks – both down tempo and high intensity tracks – Palace plans to keep people guessing.
“I’ve found with DJing it’s not too hard to get the crowd going, if you don’t try to be cool” he said.
“If you just play stuff like disco and other songs which aren’t usually used its easy.
“Songs like Roses by Outkast can be mixed with dance songs really easy and the DJ sets can become really diverse.”
What you hear in Palace’s sets is, in essence, how he produces.
The young producer uses a broad range of genres, combining them to appear like a seamless dance track.
It’s this style of mixing which has Palace on the brink of a music deal.
But while Palace is still looking forward, the upcoming Hooch Fest takes the local producer back to where it began.
“It’s really cool to see where Hooch has gone,” he said.
“What Hooch has done for Mandurah is so good.
“If we had something like Hooch Fest prior to Hooch it wouldn’t have worked because they wouldn’t have known how good it is.
“The kids always listened to this music prior to Hooch; you’d go to someone’s house and people would play this music.”
Hooch is on December 6.
