A 16-year-old boy from Rivervale, allegedly on the run from police, was nabbed by police dog Jimmy in Hamersley early on Tuesday.
Police say they received tip-off about a person believed to be breaking into cars along Eastwood Way about 12:35am.
A Dog Squad unit was the first to arrive and Jimmy was sent into the backyard to look for the offender.
According to police, a person was seen jumping fences and trying to run away but Jimmy was able to track the person's scent and indicated to handlers that someone was hiding near a trailer on Hornet Street.
A 16-year-old boy from Rivervale was found hiding under the trailer and was taken into custody and handed over to officers from Mirrabooka Police Station..
He has since been charged with three counts of attempted stealing, two counts of possessing stolen property and one count of breach of bail.
