BACK by popular demand, this year’ Smart Street Party series is set to kick off with a bang next month.
With more than 2000 people in attendance at each event last year, the street parties were a popular hit among locals and is set to draw the attention of many once again.
The family-friendly markets will again present the unique suitcase ‘mini-markets’, along with the more traditional stallholders, games, street musicians and a live band from 7pm.
Community Solutions Chief executive Rhys Williams said following the buzz generated from last years series, it was great to be able to hold these events again.
“Last year, people kept coming up to us and saying ‘this is exactly the sort of thing Mandurah needs’, and so we had a real sense that there was an appetite for more this summer," he said.
“What I love about these street parties is they have a real community village feel about them.
"Mandurah people being proud of the place they live and enjoying the company of their family, friends and fellow community members
“Life is busy and we don't often have the chance to just have some fun with our community anymore.
"This is a chance for people to let their hair down, have some fun with the family and maybe even have a dance in the street”.
The markets begin on December 5 from 5-9pm, running once a month through until May, in the Smart Street Mall.
The Smart Street Parties are presented by Community Solutions, in partnership with the City of Mandurah and All For The Mall Association.
