SHOALWATER Bay is the only undefeated team after a rain-affected round of the Peel Cricket Association.
After winning the toss, Shoalwater Bay elected to send opponents Mandurah in to bat.
Led by Harpeet Atwal (49), Mandurah werer eventually all-out for 184 with 13 balls remaining.
Bradley Ranford was instrumental with the ball for Shoalwater Bay collecting four wickets for 27 from 10 overs.
Due to rain Shoalwater Bay’s innings was reduced to 28 overs with Mandurah’s total reduced.
Shoalwater Bay started poorly with opener Darcy Ives dismissed for a duck.
Fellow opener Craig Anderson steadied the innings with a well-made 27.
Edging closer to Mandurah’s total Graham Spinks proved the difference for Shoalwater Bay.
Spinks finished on 50 not out with his side surpassing Mandurah’s total with two balls remaining. Shoalwater Bay now sits on top of the ladder with four wins, ahead of Singleton Irwinians on three wins.
Singleton Irwinians elected to bat first against White Knights Baldivis making their way to 118 before being dismissed in the final over.
Ian Bowes (32) and Ian Jack (22) were the only two batsmen who pased 20.
In reply Baldivis opener Adam Scott got his side off to a good start with 31.
Scott paired with Hayden Lynn (29) to push the total past 50.
When Scott fell, Roy Crouch (18) and Lynn continued the push toward Singleton Irwinians’ total.
When Lynn was dismissed, his side was left at 5/91 needing 28 runs to win.
However it was not to be, with Baldivis dismissed for 118 with five balls remaining with the game ending in a draw.
Michael Needs was the hero for Singleton Irwinians picking up 3/10 including the final wicket from just 4.1 overs. South Mandurah recorded their third win of the season after overcoming Hillman.
The Hillman batters struggled to handle the South Mandurah bowlers with wickets steadily falling throughout their innings.
Kevin Johnson was the only batsman to offer some resistance with 29 as his side was bowled out for 64 in the 26th over.
The win elevated South Mandurah into the top four with Hillman sitting in second last on one win.
The game between Halls Head and Warnbro Swans resulted in a draw after it was called off due to the condition of the ground.
The match between Pinjarra and Waroona was called off due to rain.
This weekend Halls Head play Mandurah, Shoalwater Bay take on Singleton Irwinians, Baldivis come up against South Mandurah, Warnbro play Waroona and Pinjarra take on Hillman.
