SINGLETON Irwinians made it three straight wins when they were able to get over the line against South Mandurah on Saturday.
Both teams were undefeated heading into their round three clash though it was Singleton Irwinians bowlers who proved the difference.
South Mandurah won the toss and elected to bat first.
After losing three quick wickets, Michael Holmes paired with Jess Buck (14) to steady the innings with a well-made 32.
Number 10 Brandon Hill offered some resistance but ran out of partners on 22 with the side all-out for 114 in the 40th over.
Daniel Jones finished with six wickets for 40 runs from 8.4 overs to be the pick of the Singleton Irwinian bowlers.
In reply openers Jamie Glascoe (37) and Ian Jack (52) got the the innings off to a good start but when they were dismissed the Singleton Irwinians’ batting line-up crumbled.
The side slipped to 7/96 needing 21 runs to win.
The tail wagged with David Moragn (14), Rob McLean (25) and Benjiman Mays (24) pushing the total past South Mandurah’s.
The side finished all-out for 162 in the 45th over.
Phil Wirth was the pick of the South Mandurah bowlers with 5/32 from 10 overs.
Shoalwater is the only other undefeated team after coming away with a lucky win against Warnbro.
Warnbro batted first and made their way to 166 before being dismissed in the 48th over.
Dane Ugle top scored with 65.
Seth Kennedy picked up 4/25 from his nine overs for Shoalwater.
In reply Shoalwater were in trouble at 6/86 before rain stopped play in the 31st over.
Because 25 overs constitute a game Shoalwater was awarded the win as they were ahead of Warnbro’s score at that point.
Opener Craig Anderson finished on 33 not out for Shoalwater.
Ugle impressed with the ball with 2/6 off eight overs.
Halls Head suffered their first defeat against Pinjarra.
Halls Head were sent into bat with Pinjarra’s Joseph Slade ripping through the line-up with 5/24 from eight overs to dismiss the side for just 80.
Pinjarra easily passed the total with Jamie Lee (44) leading.
Pinjarra was eventually dismissed for 151.
Mandurah recorded their first win of the season against White Knights Baldivis in a low-scoring game.
Mandurah were sent in to bat first with the side struggling to find any momentum.
Justin Solly top-scored with 35 as his side was dismissed for 95.
Ryan DeBoni finished with 5/13 from 7.3 overs for Baldivis.
After losing their opener for a duck Baldivis struggled to gain any momentum with the side all-out for 82.
Luke Gibbons picked up 5/46 for Mandurah.
Hillman got over the line against Waroona in a rain-interrupted game.
Hillman finished their innings at 8/156 with Kevin Johnson top-scoring with 53.
Waroona were only able to face 25 overs before rain ended play.
They finished with 5/74 with Hilman awarded the win.
Nic Rep finished on 35 not out for Waroona.
This week Baldivis play Singleton Irwinians, Mandurah take on Shoalwater Bay, Halls Head come up against Warnbro, Pinjarra play Waroona and Hillman face South Mandurah.
