PINJARRA was unable to manufacture a miracle win against Shoalwater Bay after their batting line-up failed to deliver on Sunday.
Shoalwater Bay won the toss and elected to send Pinjarra in to bat.
After opener Ryan Pack fell for four, Jamie Lee (26) and Anthony Pittman (13) were able to add vitals run before the batting collapsed.
Pinjarra lost the next six wickets for 30 runs with only Joseph Slade showing resistance with a well-made 34.
Pinjarra ended their innings all-out for 115 in the 42nd over.
Graham Spinks was good with the ball for Shoalwater Bay with 4/24 for 10 overs.
In reply Shoalwater Bay was in trouble early at 5/34 with an unlikely Pinjarra win looking possible.
However Brandon Burt (70) and Darcy Ives (42) came together to push Shoalwater Bay pass Pinjarra’s total.
Shoalwater Bay finished their innings at 8/184 from their 50 overs.
Dylan Skipper was outstanding with the ball with 3/13 from nine overs.
South Mandurah’s successful start to the season continued with a big win over Mandurah.
South Mandurah’s batsmen made the job easy for their bowlers with Mitchell Holmes (68), Jesse Buck (47), Phil Wirth (40) and Matt Hill (61) leading their side to 9/271 from their 50 overs.
Matthew Jenkinson was the pick of the bowlers for Mandurah with 3/27 from 10 overs.
In reply a number of the Mandurah batsmen got starts with eight batsmen into double figures.
However none of them were able to go on with it with Ian Lattimore top scoring with 27 runs.
Mandurah were all-out for 186 in the 44th over.
Brad Holmes was the pick of the bowlers with 3/27 from 10 overs.
Warnbro Swans were able to defend 168 to easily defeat White Knights Baldivis.
Warnbro had five batsmen past 20 run but none of them were able to capitalise.
Keren Ugle and Simon Greenslade top scored with 28.
Roy Crouch, Ryan DeBoni and Daniel Freemantle each picked up two wickets for Baldivis.
In reply Baldivis were never in the match with Adam Scott (34) and Freemantle (20) showing the only resistance with the side all out for 91.
Jani Metsola was the pick of the bowlers with 4/18 off 10.
Singleton Irwinians backed up their first round win with a big win against Hillman.
Mitchell Shellam scored more than half of Hillman’s score with 63 as his side were dismissed for 118.
In reply Singleton Irwinians got the job done with Bryce Evans (43) and Daniel Jones (62) leading their side to 6/174 from 50 overs.
Rhys Carr picked up three wickets for 32 runs from five overs.
Waroona took to the field against Halls Head for the first time this season after a forfeit last week
Halls Head batted well with Jake O’Bryne (72) and Cameron Burrage (57) top scoring as their side went on to post 8/245 from 50 overs.
James Jovanovich was the pick of the bowlers for Waroona with 2/30 off 10 overs.
In reply Waroona opener Ben Wright (66) and number three Adam Clancy (27) got their side off to a good start.
However it was always going to be a tough ask with Waroona dismissed for 173 in the 47th over.
Matthew Gordon was the pick of the bowlers for Halls Head with 3/22 off 7.4 overs.
This weekend Halls Head play Pinjarra, Shoalwater come up against Warnbro, Baldivis play Mandurah, South Mandurah meet Singleton Irwinians and Hillman come up against Waroona.
