NEW traffic signals are set to be installed at two notorious Mandurah intersections.
Nominations for the improvement of traffic signals have been received for the intersections of Old Coast Road with Mandurah Road and Allnutt Street with Dower Street.
The intersection of Allnutt and Dower has a right turning arrow planned from Allnutt Street into Dower Street.
The two sets of lights are reliant on funding from the Federal Black Spot program.
“The objective of the Black Spot program is to reduce the social and economic cost of road trauma, primarily by the identification and cost effective treatment of locations with a record of casualty crashes,” a Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development spokesperson said.
The intersections are currently under assessment by Main Roads WA and the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development.
The announcement of successful projects will occur early 2015.
