Lloyd excelled at footy and basketball but had to choose between the two.
Throughout the years...
"You are always proud of what your kids do. But to see him win a championship was sensational." - Tony Lloyd, after son Jake won the Australian under-16 basketball championships in 2008.
"As an under-16s player he has shown outstanding improvement. Lloyd is keen and dedicated and will continue to get better.'' - Horsham Hornets coach Owen Hughan in 2008.
"A guy I have struggled with is Jake Lloyd from Horsham. He'll just keep getting better as well.'' - Dimboola's Clancy Bennett on his best opponent in 2011.
"It has only just started now, I've got to work even harder and I look forward to the opportunity.'' - Jake Lloyd upon Rookie Draft selection to the Swans in 2012.
"I pumped him up to every club I spoke to, particularly Essendon. He would put 98 per cent of players to shame in his commitment on and off the ground. I reckon he will be a winner for Sydney, he will just get better and better.'' - Former Wimmera region manager Geoff Burdett on why Lloyd's rookie-list drafting to the Swans was one of his biggest success stories, upon stepping down in 2013.
