POLICE Remembrance Day was marked with a service at Eastlake Church on Wednesday.
Held on or near September 29 each year, the service honours and remembers fallen officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
Inspector Paul La Spina officiated the ceremony with Senior Sergeant Dean Snashall leading the police prayer.
Sergeant Andrew Maher from Mandurah police also read a prayer and the Call to Worship was given by retired chief inspector Ray Kaerger.
During the service symbols of police work were placed on display as symbols of the dedication of the fallen officers’.
Wreaths were laid, and the names of officers killed in Western Australia were read, including Mandurah’s senior constable Jane Kennaugh who died in 1996 while on duty.
