WOMEN around Pinjarra can see a showcase of the region’s best health and lifestyle services with the North Pinjarra Progress Association’s first Women’s Wellbeing Expo.
Funds from the expo will support Breast Cancer Care WA and it will be held on Saturday, November 1 at the Pinjarra Civic Centre at 9.30am.
The event will involve a fashion parade, raffles, a raw food display, free samples from stalls with local produce and products and a high tea lunch is included in the ticket price.
Guests will also take home a showbag of goodies.
“We wanted to do a fundraiser that brought the community together so we decided to hold this day for women who may not get a chance to connect with the services available around Pinjarra,” organiser Lesley Ewing said.
“It’s not just health services that will be available – it’s also about pampering and having a fun day.
“Because the ticket price includes lunch and while there will be things for sale, it will be a pretty cost-free day.”
The expo will also have nurses available to speak to people about their blood pressure and other lifestyle factors as well as tai chi and yoga displays and St John Ambulance volunteers on hand performing CPR demonstrations.
Ms Ewing said the group were grateful for all the businesses that had booked to hold a stall or donated goods, as well as the event’s major sponsors, The Shire of Murray, Alcoa, Premah Switch, the Rotary Club of Pinjarra, Foot Print, Terrace Framers and Ewing Arts and Andrew Ralph’s Jewellers.
Ms Ewing said the event was strictly for women over the age of 16, guests should leave their children at home and no tickets will be sold at the door on the day.
Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at Pinjarra Chiropractic, Pinjarra Healthfoods and the Carcoola Handimart or by calling Ms Ewing on 0422 435 912 or Ms Bolton on 0468 663 263.
Organisers will also head to Pinjarra Junction Shopping Centre on Saturday, September 27 to sell tickets.
The Pinjarra Civic Centre is at the corner of Pinjarra Road and Murray Street, Pinjarra.
