A MANDURAH man who told police he was working up north and was “too intimidated” to appear in court will be forced to give evidence.
The man, who cannot be named, is the alleged victim of another man who is accused of threatening to hurt or endanger him.
The accused was not required to appear in Mandurah Magistrates Court on Tuesday for the hearing of the prosecution’s application for the alleged victim to appear via videolink.
The police prosecutor told the court the man had left the Peel region and was working in the north of the state.
But counsel for the accused tendered evidence proving this was not true.
A Facebook page set up to detail the alleged victim’s extended holiday showed he was not working.
The alleged victim will now have to return to Mandurah to give evidence in the trial which is set for October 2.
