THE Mandurah Pirates first and second grade teams’ seasons finished in disappointing fashion after both lost their grand finals.
The Pirates first grade grand final also marked Patrick Cherrington’s 100th game for the club but the side weren’t able to give him a win.
Mandurah started slowly with Nedlands capitalising on the scoreboard.
Mandurah made too many mistakes in the second half to lose 20-8 loss.
Mandurah’s second grade came up against an experienced University of Western Australia team.
With both teams attacking and defending strongly through the first 20 minutes, neither team could break through to score.
After countless phases of attack, UWA finally broke through and put the first points on the scoreboard.
With the scores still close at half time Mandurah needed to step up their game but it was UWA who continued to attack to 27-10.
Mandurah’s junior presentation night will be held on the September 6 at 12pm.
The senior presentations will be held on September 13 at 7.30pm with tickets $25.
