DUDLEY Park Primary School students got up close and personal with some furry, feathered and scaly creatures as part of their Science Week celebrations.
Year six and seven students got to cuddle a south west carpet python and meet a dingo as part of an interactive session with Peel Zoo representative Sharni Thomas.
Western Australian Birds of Prey Centre educator Yvonne Sitko brought in several birds for the children to meet, including a wedgetail eagle named Micro, because despite his huge wingspan, he is half the size of a regular wedgetail.
“At Birds of Prey we deal with hawks, falcons and owls and when they’re hurt we help to give them a second chance and return them to their family,” Ms Sitko said.
Department of Parks and Wildlife representative Stephan Crane spoke to students about endangered species and Scitech also put on a show.
