BARGAIN lovers will have another chance to snap up great outfits and help the Reach Out Drop In Centre with the second Goddess Escapade Clothes Swap.
The fundraiser was first held in February and organiser Nerida Mills said the demand for another swap had been overwhelming.
“Everyone left the last event asking when the next one would be,” she said.
“A lot of the women who attended the last one have put their hand up to help organise this one – it’s incredible.
“We’ve sold double the pre-sale tickets than we did last time – it’s really exciting that everyone is so keen.”
The group raised about $1200 from February’s event, which went to helping the Reach Out Drop In Centre provide meals and support for people in need.
Ms Mills has worked closely with Reach Out coordinator Nikki Wise to plan the August 9 swap and said there would be live music and many more prizes and games.
Guests only have to bring a bag of clothes to donate, which will get sorted while they relax and enjoy some nibbles.
“Wine will also be available for purchase so you can get some ladies together and make an evening of it,” Ms Mills said.
Ms Wise said the centre was seeing about 15 new people per week who needed assistance.
Mandurah City councillor Dave Schumacher will also help on the night and said he was impressed with the effort to help the centre.
“The people doing it hard are the forgotten people so I’m proud to be an ambassador for such a vital centre,” he said.
“Without a roof over your head or food in your stomach, how can you look forward to the future?
“People in need are lucky to have people like Nikki and Nerida.”
