A LOCAL personal trainer is proving age in no barrier when springing back into shape for summer and has challenged the community to lose a total of 1000 kilograms in 28 days.
Sixty-year-old Dennis Croll is looking for participants and local gyms to take on the Meltdown Challenge and get the Peel region healthy again by changing people’s lifestyles.
But he said this does not mean you can’t have your cake and eat it too.
“I like a beer or a glass of wine and a bit of chocolate,” Mr Croll said.
“This is meant to fit in with people’s lifestyles.
“Too many people go on programs where they can’t eat the things they want which makes them feel worse than when they started.
“But you still want to see results fast.”
“But it’s not just about weight loss; it’s about health as well."

Mr Croll said people can help collectively lose both kilograms of fat and inches off the waistline with the program’s supplements and free training sessions.
The Meltdown Challenge will also hold a How to Put the Click Back in Your Clock seminar held prior to the Meltdown Challenge.
“It’s one ton of fat we’re losing; imagine how much that is,” he said.
“But it’s not just about weight loss; it’s about health as well.
“It’s 30 minutes a day and with very minimal equipment and it’s fun.”
Mr Croll is putting the call out for expressions of interests for the spring program, for participants, gyms and personal trainers who are willing to join the battle against the bulge with Mr Croll’s program.
Mr Croll is also open to hosting competitions between different business and groups.
