New Mandurah burger restaurant Grill’d is calling for local groups to take part in its community donation program.
The program, Local Matters, will donate $500 to community groups each month.
The first three groups selected are the Halls Head Junior Cricket Club, Smiling Mind and The Bluearth Foundation Active Schools Program.
Grill’d founder Simon Crowe said the new restaurant came about in response to the growing demand for healthy burgers outside the metropolitan area.
“Mandurah is a perfect fit for Grill’d and we are looking forward to continuing to share our passion for great burgers with locals,” he said.
“Local Matters gives us an opportunity to give back to the community that supports us.
“Throughout the program we have helped bring awareness and funding support to many worthy initiatives relying on community donations to continue.”
Every customer who purchases a burger receives a Local Matters token to put into one of three jars, representing the three groups selected for that month.
At the end of the month, the restaurant splits $500 between the groups and the group with the most tokens receives $300.
Two other groups receive $100 each.
The store held its grand opening event last Friday and gave away free burgers from 6-9pm.
Community groups needing extra support and awareness should apply to the program at the Mandurah Terrace store or at grilld.com.au
