A BRICK window box installed just two weeks ago helped save a Lakelands family from injury this morning when a car drove into the front of their home.
About 7.20am the car mounted the footpath and crashed into the front of a Yindana Boulevard home.
Residents said they were relieved no one was injured.
“Kids walk down this road to go to school all the time – it could have been much worse,” one resident said.
“Something has to be done about the laws regarding young drivers and super-charged car.”
One neighbour said she was alerted when she heard a huge bang.
“I came outside because I thought the car had hit my house but it was my neighbour’s,” she said.
“The driver could have killed someone.”
There was no structural damage to the home and investigations are ongoing.
