A FORMER Mandurah primary school principal will stand trial next week on child sex charges.
Matthew Edward Faulkner will fight the 16 charges which relate to incidents which are alleged to have happened at Mandurah Catholic College in the late-1990s.
Mr Faulkner has previously indicated he would “vigorously defend” the charges.
The 54-year-old local resident was also employed as a principal at St Joseph’s Catholic College in Waroona and Assumption Catholic Primary School.
Mr Faulkner’s contract at Assumption was terminated shortly after his alleged offences were made public.
He never started work at that school.
The trial is expected to run for one week.
The Mandurah Mail will be live tweeting the trial.
