PEOPLE may think of Mandurah man Peter Banks as a mad inventor.
But there’s nothing crazy about his latest idea which looks set to take the sporting world by storm.
The Sprolley, or ‘ultimate sports trolley’, started out as one of Mr Banks’ many ideas.
And, like all the best inventions, it is “something that solves someone’s problem” according to its creator.
“I have ideas all the time,” Mr Banks said.
“But this is the first time I’ve spent money to make it happen.”
Mr Banks said the idea for the multi-purpose trolley came to him through his love of sports.
He said one of the biggest problems he had found during his 20 years involved in local football and other sports was a lack of volunteers to carry water bottles and first aid equipment.
“I just thought, imagine having all that stuff in one trolley,” Mr Banks said.
“A local footy club is already using it.
“It makes running drinks so much easier.”
On Mr Banks’ insistence, the Sprolley is Western Australia-made and comes in seven colours.
And while it’s early days yet, Mr Banks and his wife Wendy, who doubles as the marketing brain behind the project, are confident the Sprolley will be a hit.
“I really believe in it,” Mr Banks said.
“I love it.”
