MANDURAH and South Mandurah have the chance to record their first win of the Peel Football League season when they come up against each other on Anzac Day at Bendigo Bank Stadium.
The two teams have started the season poorly and are the only winless teams.
Before the season South Mandurah were backed to make finals but after losing their first three games they need a win to get their season back on track.
Their draw hasn’t helped their cause with the Falcons playing Halls Head, Mundijong and Pinjarra in the opening three rounds, all undefeated.
The Falcons took it up to Halls Head, who have been the surprise packet of the season, in round one but were unable to keep up the intensity for four quarters.
They trailed by just one-point at three-quarter time but were blow away in the last to lose by four goals.
In their last outing against Pinjarra South Mandurah struggled to re-group after trailing by 21 points at quarter-time.
The Falcons stuck with Pinjarra for the rest of the game but could not make up any ground, going down by 23 points.
The Mustangs had a lot of ground to make up from a disappointing 2013 so it comes as no surprise that they have struggled to win games early despite noticeable improvement from last year.
With a young side, the Mustangs have been unable to string together a half let alone four-quarters of good football.
They went down to Baldivis by 53 points in round one, were blown away by Halls Head to lose by 94 points in round two after trailing by 21 points at half time and were no match for Mundijong, losing by 103 points.
This week poses as their best chance yet to record a win but South Mandurah will also be desperate to get a win on the board.
The game will kick off at 4.30pm on Anzac Day.
The other Anzac Day game will see Halls Head come up against Baldivis.
Halls Head has started the season strongly with wins against South Mandurah and Mandurah as well as an impressive win against Waroona.
Baldivis will give an indication of whether or not Halls Head is the real deal in 2014.
Baldivis will look to record their second win of the season after their only win came in round one against Mandurah.
They were unlucky to lose to Rockingham two weeks ago, with former AFL start Brendan Fevola the difference.
The game will start at 6.10pm at Harcourts Mandurah Stadium, Merlin Street, Halls Head.
It will be Halls Head’s first home game in their newly constructed clubrooms and bar.
Colts will play a match between the Reserves and League game and prior to the Anzac Day formalities.
In the final two games of the round Waroona play Mundijong at home on Saturday at 4.30pm and Pinjarra will look to keep their undefeated start to the season going against Rockingham at home on Saturday at 4.30pm.
