Murdoch Detectives have charged a 28-year-old man over a series of offences in Perth’s south-eastern suburbs.
In the first offence on March 13, 2014, the man allegedly entered a home on Davies
Crescent, Kardinya, and restrained a 25-year-old female resident of the property.
The man was allegedly armed with a knife and threatened to kill the woman.
It is further alleged the man ransacked the house before stealing a number of laptop computers and a television.
He allegedly stole the victim’s car and left the scene.
The stolen car was recovered in Rockingham on March 21.
Police are appealing for information regarding the computers which contain images of sentimental value to the owners.
Later that day (March 21), the accused man allegedly stole a car with an eight-year-old girl on board while it was parked near a school in Victoria Park.
The child’s mother was nearby at the time but did not have an opportunity to intervene.
The girl was told to leave the car at Albany Highway and walked back to her family at the school unharmed within 20 minutes of the car theft.
The man was arrested on March 23 and charged in relation to an unrelated matter.
He was further charged over the Victoria Park car theft on March 27, and charged again on Wednesday over the Kardinya incident.
Inquiries into the incidents are continuing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
