TWO ‘Fish Today for Tomorrow’ school holiday clinics were held on Tuesday at the Mandurah Community Museum.
It is the third year the Mandurah Community Museum has hosted the event in partnership with the Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club with local students enjoying the fresh air and the chance to catch a fish.
MOFSC members ran four stations on the foreshore and under the Old Mandurah Bridge where the children learnt how to tie knots, fillet a fish, cast a fishing line and catch a fish.
Volunteers from Getaway Outdoors and RecFishWest assisted in the running of the stations.
Students caught a number of fish throughout the day including brim, trumpeter, butter fish and herring.
Prizes were awarded to lucky children with all who attended receiving a gift bag full of useful fishing information.
