WHEN Mandurah mother Kym Reed first walked into her obstetrician’s office she had no idea she had already met him once before.
Ms Reed, now the proud mother of baby Jesse, has just had her baby delivered by the same person who delivered her in 1980.
Mandurah Obstetrics’ Yet Chee Lowe was practicing in Kojonup when he delivered Ms Reed and it was only by a happy coincidence he also had the chance to deliver Jesse as well.
“I recognised her when she first walked in,” Dr Lowe said.
“She looked familiar and I asked if she was Ray Ball’s daughter and realised I had delivered her.
“She looks a lot like her mother and father.”
Dr Lowe brought Jesse into the world late last month and it is the sixth time the obstetrician has delivered both the parent and their child.
He said he was not retiring anytime soon and would like to stick around long enough to deliver Jesse’s child as well.
“It’s a nice feeling to see someone you have delivered with their own family,” Dr Lowe said.
