CARCOOLA Primary School held their Anzac Day Ceremony last week with Pinjarra RSL members Mike Humphries and Sue O’Donnell in attendance.
Student councillors spoke about the importance of Anzac Day and its history.
Carcoola principal Michael Day reiterated the message.
“We pause to remember all the current and past members of the armed forces,” he said.
“We remember the sacrifices these people have made.”
“We wouldn’t be sitting here enjoying the freedoms we have today if it wasn’t for these men and women.”
Mr Humphries read a poem written by Blake Morgan, a 12-year-old boy, which honours Anzac Day and his digger relatives.
Mr Humphries donated a book titled Anzac Day to the school on behalf of the Pinjarra RSL which will be available in the schools library.
