ON THE back of two alarming abduction incidents, we are asking parents if they have taught their child about stranger danger.
In the space of 10 days, local police have received two separate reports of attempted child abductions.
On February 18, police were alerted to an incident where a young boy was approached by strangers in Greenfields.
It is alleged the eight-year-old boy was on Kangaroo Paw Drive near his home when a man standing by his vehicle offered the boy some lollies to get into his white utility.
The man and his female passenger left the scene when the boy fled.
On Friday, a more sinister report emerged after two girls escaped an attempted abduction in central Mandurah.
Two sisters were riding home on Reserve Drive about 3.45pm when three men tried to snatch the youngest girl off her bike.
According to reports, the driver of the two-door hatchback mounted the kerb nearby as a male passenger reportedly grabbed the eight-year-old girl before her 11-year-old sister “yanked on her for dear life”.
The report said the man tried to pull the younger girl into the vehicle through a window before the two girls escaped.
Both incidents are being investigated by police.
