TWO local boys have been charged over a string of burglaries and thefts in the Shark Bay region.
According to police, a 15-year-old Meadow Springs boy and a 16-year-old South Yunderup boy were visiting Shark Bay last week.
It is alleged the duo were involved in several burglaries where electronic equipment, tools and quad bikes were stolen.
It is further alleged the boys caused “significant damage” to each of the premises broken into, including a floating pontoon, industrial sheds, a school and a volunteer emergency services compound.
Shark Bay and Carnarvon police officers conducted the investigation and last Friday received a tip-off about a boat of interest being towed out of the Shark Bay townsite.
The vehicle towing the boat was stopped and subsequently searched and it will be alleged stolen items from prior burglaries were located inside.
The two boys will each face nine counts of aggravated burglary when they appear in the Children’s Court on February 21.
