A MAN who allegedly stole a bin full of alcohol and food from Silver Sands Tavern on Tuesday night was refused bail in Mandurah Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Police allege Carlos Roberto Gidgup, 26, entered the tavern just after midnight and was spotted by a security guard.
The guard confronted Mr Gidgup before retreating outside where he reportedly observed the man, who is from Lockridge, taking alcohol and food.
It will be alleged when Mr Gidgup left the tavern he threatened the security guard with a knife and left the area with a bin full of stolen items.
Local police and detectives attended the scene and patrols were conducted of the nearby area.
About 12:45am a man matching the description of the offender was seen hiding behind a bush on Moat Street and a further search of the surrounding area resulted in the bin and stolen alcohol being located.
Mr Gidgup was arrested and charged with attempted armed robbery, burglary and stealing.
He was remanded in custody to appear before Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on February 5 via videolink.
