POLICE are searching for two inmates who escaped from the Banksia Hill Detention Centre about 10.15am on Thursday, August 2.
They are Christopher Meredith, 18, and Peter Robert Garlett, 17.
At 10.15am yesterday the two stole a Hilux four-wheel-drive from within the Banksia Detention Centre, Nicholson Road, Canningvale.
They used the vehicle to ram the main gates, escaping from the centre.
The vehicle was then involved in a traffic crash at the intersection of Bristle Avenue and Ranford Road.
Garlett and Meredith are then believed to have then stolen from a nearby shopping centre, a Toyota Hilux 1952 BU, described as a 2002 White Toyota Hilux single cab, 4WD utility with a beige canvas canopy and black bull bar.
This vehicle has not been recovered.
Garlett is described as 170cm medium build, brown hair, brown eyes,
olive complexion and dark skinned.
Meredith is described as 176cm, slim, brown hair, brown eyes.
Both persons are considered dangerous and should not be approached.
