THE police helicopter was called to attend an incident in Mandurah last night after a man threw himself off the old bridge.
Police said the man had been walking across Mandurah Traffic Bridge about 10.30pm.
When officers tried to approach him he jumped off the bridge into the water below.
At this stage it is not clear why police wanted to speak with the man.
He has been arrested and it is understood he is likely to be taken to hospital.
