TWO people faced Mandurah Magistrates Court today after police officers found bestiality images on their mobile phone.
Darren Michael Lynch, 39, of Camillo, and co-offender Helen Anne Hoekstra, also 39, of Mandurah, pleaded guilty to possessing an indecent or obscene article.
The court heard that on September 20 police arrested Mr Lynch on a different matter while the two were at Coles Xpress service station in Singleton.
Police officers took them both to Rockingham Police Station for questioning and police were given permission to search one of their phones.
Police found three images on the phone of women engaging in sex with animals.
Magistrate Vivien Edwards said the offence carried a maximum penalty of $5000 and was a “very serious matter”.
Magistrate Edwards fined them $600 each and ordered the forfeiture of the phone.
