 Spare us the preaching

Spare us the preaching

BRIAN Sutton (What is the reason, Mail Letters October 8) certainly has an odd god.

We are told God is all loving, all caring and according to some pockets of Christianity, can even make us rich if we give the pastors enough money on the way through.

And this is the same god it appears that on a whim, says as Ming the Merciless did in Flash Gordon “I’m bored” and whips up a few earthquakes, tsunamis, a volcano or two, a tornado and for good measure chucks a few matches in the bush in Victoria.

Wonder what his party piece is?

Create another universe or two to keep in practice?

If this is your god Mr Sutton, he is instead not loving and caring but angry, vengeful, has no value for human life and therefore akin to those other strange people who decide a bomb or two in a hotel, plastic explosives on planes or a few hand grenades attached the chest is a jolly good day out and a bit of a giggle.

Spare us Mr Sutton.

Preach to your already converted.

I am sure they will listen.

The rest of us are too busy living and loving.
