AS A supporter of the Sutton farm heritage site, I can’t get over the near-sightedness of the developers in wanting to construct a modern high-rise high density development around the lovely old farm buildings.
The farm buildings should be restored and open to the public for all to enjoy.
The suggestions of tea rooms and for local art space would bring people to Mandurah.
There is enough building going on in and around the town, and once the old buildings go, then what?
There goes a part of history that you can never get back.
It’s perfect open space for the community to get together and create a space for all to enjoy, not just more short-term investors, grabbing up apartments, and not living in them just to make a quick buck.
I think our elected members should fight to save this heritage site, and not accept a compromise.
