MANDURAH Swimming Club displayed some outstanding results at the Peel Aquatic Open Sprint Carnival last month.

Nine-year-old Jade Martin produced four personal bests on the day including a 6.53sec improvement on her 50m freestyle and a 3.23sec in the 50m breaststroke.

Taita Hunter, 11, sizzled with a 6.11sec personal best in his 50m freestyle and a 2.12sec improvement in the 50m breaststroke.

James Holloway had two personal bests, his best being 4.81sec in the 50m breaststroke, and Dana Miller produced a 5.66sec personal best in the 100m butterfly.

Eleven-year-old Jackson Burkett had four personal bests including 1.86sec in the 50m freestyle and 1.39sec in the 50m butterfly and Bailey Hollow, 10, produced a 2.23sec personal best in his 100m butterfly.

Annika Jones, 13, improved her 200m medley time by 3.45sec and younger sister Mikaylah, 11, produced a personal best in the 100m medley winning two gold, one silver and one bronze medal from the day.

Mikaylah, is one of the young stars at Mandurah Swimming Club and taught herself to swim at the age of two and she has barely been out of the water since.

When she is not swimming, the modest girl looks after her animals at home on their Serpentine property.

Another young star at Mandurah is eight-year-old Sophie Vergone who produced a 3.46sec personal best in the 50m breaststroke to take the silver medal and also improved her 50m freestyle time to win the bronze.

This very determined young girl has an older brother and sister swimming with the club, loves all sports and has a blue belt in karate.

Yet another rising star at Mandurah is seven-year-old Tess Hall who swam a 4.67sec personal best in the 50m freestyle to win gold and a bronze medal in her 50m backstroke event.

Tess, who has two older brothers, has only been at the club for one year but her love of swimming and dedication is showing in her fantastic results.

Overall it was a great finish to the short course season for Mandurah Swimming Club.
