DANCING together for just one year, teenagers Lydia Tyler and Scott Elstermann are taking quick steps to becoming one of the best junior couples in the country.
Tyler, 15 and Elstermann, 14 have each been dancing for six years and were paired together by Mandurah dance sport teacher Debbie Sullivan from DanceZone one year ago.
Earlier in the month the couple competed at the Queensland Open DanceSport Championships on the Gold Coast and was named the overall winners of the junior section, winning the perpetual trophy.
The pair then travelled to Melbourne for the Crown Casino DanceSport Championships where they won three first places.
In the lead up to the competitions the pair had been training six days a week and continue to dance four times each week in preparation for the National Capital Championships to be held in Canberra from June 28.
